Family Portrait

Family Portrait is an expressive oil painting by Chris Newson, presented in a red frame. Three closely gathered figures bring together the themes of family, protection and belonging, with textured paint and warm colour giving the scene its character.

Artwork size: 6 × 8 inches, excluding the frame.

This is the portrait of a family forged in the fire of chaos. He is the Seagull, the restless spirit painting the sky, forever looking outward from the canvas’s edge. She is the Dove, the anchor in the storm, grounding the flight with steady hands and an open heart. And there, nestled between them, is the Child—a bridge of feather and bone, half the wanderer, half the home.

In the language of oil, we are not merely three figures; we are a force. The protective shadow, the enduring light, and the future blooming in their arms. This is the truth we paint: that love is not just a feeling, but a structure built to hold the sea.
